I moved my website to a new hosting platform… what a pain!

Hi there who ever may be reading this. I am relatively technically savvy, but I have to tell you that moving my website to a new hosting platform has been a royal pain. I had done a “Fast Dup” to download and be able to install my old page on the new platform, but alas…it doesn’t work that easily. So after having toyed around all afternoon, I realized I’d have to do more hands on work myself…again.

The great thing about switching platforms is the savings. I pay 29.00 € per YEAR on my current platform, whereas on my old one I paid 300.00 € annually. That’s worth an afternoon or two of headache, while I got it up and running again.

I am also noticing some minor differences in fonts on the exact same WordPress template on this (free) WordPress (.org) compared to the WordPress.com template. Oh well, I guess there are worse things. I just wish I could choose the font on my own. I am a big fan of Blogger, and have set up several blog platforms on them over the years. I used them as a non-traditional business platform because I really didn’t see the need to have a website just yet then. That changed a year ago.
Have a look at them if you like:
