About me: Teaching/coaching, translating, copy-editing, training and coaching in English and Spanish.

The first thing I can say about me is that I completed a BA in Spanish at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago before moving to Seville, Spain (August 2000), where I lived for 13 years working for 6 as a medical research translator for international publications transitioning to teaching.

After a postgraduate certification in Translation at the University of Seville in 2006, I then set my goals  about teaching. During that time while teaching in private schools and completing an intern-scholarship in Teaching during my master’s degree in secondary education English language teaching (University of Seville, Spain), time was never wasted.

Furthermore, I spent about 3 years teaching in bilingual private secondary schools teaching from 6 to 12 grades. I was the debate team coach and headed up the school’s Cambridge Exam preparation courses. I went on to teach in a private language school, developing the curriculums from scratch and teaching individual and group courses for tailored business purposes as well as exam preparation (IELTS, Cambridge – Proficiency, Advanced and First, and the TOEFL test).

Finally, I’ve been a self-employed teacher in private companies in Germany since 2014, as well as at the VHS in Ludwigsburg and currently Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University, DHBW Stuttgart. Specialties include business, technical, legal and medical English. Currently teaching and translating in several multinational companies in the Stuttgart area on site and online.

Professional Organizations: Aside from my freelancing, I am have also been a part of the English Language Teachers’ Association Stuttgart (ELTAS e.V.) since late 2018.
